Our self-esteem refers to our perception of our overall worth and worthiness. It encompasses the thoughts and feelings we have about ourselves. One of the biggest barriers to healthy self-esteem is our self-talk. When we have low self-esteem, the way we talk to ourselves and about ourselves is very damaging. It is like having someone follow you wherever you go calling you names and telling you that you are a failure and a loser.
